As we start the new year, each of us has probably spent time reflecting on what went right and what went wrong in the previous year. We also look forward to what the new year can bring! We set goals or resolutions, but unfortunately, we have usually broken those promises to ourselves by sometime mid-February. We give up, go back to our old habits, and wait for the new year. But it doesn’t have to be that way! One of my favorite verses in the Bible is from, of all books, Lamentations. “Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fails. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3: 22-23) Truth be told, we will always fail and fall short. But we don’t have to just wait for January 1st, or a Monday, or any specific time frame…because God never fails and His mercies are new EVERY morning, we can start again tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after that. Everyday is a new chance to do better, to be better. What hope for a new year! There is no failing as long as you keep trying!
Our team at 3:16 Healthcare knows this as much as anybody. The past year has stretched us physically, emotionally, and spiritually, but we have come out all the better. Because of God’s great faithfulness, we are better today than we were yesterday! And we will keep striving to be Jesus’s hands and feet in the world. We will fall short, but we won’t give up, because our strength is not our own. It comes from somewhere much more powerful and resilient than our flawed selves. We are excited about what 2018 will bring and for the plans God has for us! We are so thankful you all are on this journey with us! We pray for you and ask that you do the same for us….because when we work together and keep our focus Heavenward, we are better!
God bless,Allison Key, MD

hCG diet and Weight Loss
Below is some basic information regarding our weight loss program.
Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG) was first discovered in the urine of pregnant women by researchers in 1927. The first report of using hCG to help with obesity was published in 1953. hCG in conjunction with a low-calorie diet is mandatory for success with the program. hCG is said to perform a metabolic recovery by resetting the thyroid. This allows for the body to increase metabolism and burn fat at a much faster rate. hCG is also said to break down body fat, causing rapid weight loss. However, it does protect the endogenous fat and muscle that the body needs to stay healthy and helps to avoid sagging skin after excessive weight loss. Patients can expect to lose between 0.5-1 pound per day. Men generally lose more weight than women. The diet consists of 3 different phases. Phase one (first 6 weeks) involves the hCG portion with a restricted calorie intake. Phase 2 and 3 (second 6 weeks) are crucial to help the body reset its metabolism. During this portion, foods are slowly reintroduced, and weight is monitored closely for any fluctuations. Please call to schedule a consultation and see if this program is right for you.
Weight Loss Tips
- Drink plenty of water through out the day. Drinking at least 17oz of water prior to meals helps dieters eat fewer calories and lose up to 44% more weight.
- Use a smaller plate when eating. This will trick you mind into thinking you have more food!
- Never get too hungry. Plan out meals and keep healthy snacks nearby
- Select a daily calorie allowance and stick to it.
- Don’t overestimate calories burned during exercise.
- Try to incorporate colors into every meal. Try to add a something red, orange and green.
- Try to eat one less bite with every meal. On average this is around 75 calories. This could be a potential 8 pound weight loss in 1 year.
- Try to reduce the amount of salt (sodium) in your diet.
- Add a little spice to your diet. This will help curb hunger and release endorphins.
- Cut out sugary drinks and diet sodas. Having 2 sodas a day can increase waistline by over 500%.
